When In...Miami

Introducing When In...

...a blog series highlighting our favorite hotels (and obvi their pools...and drinks, and vibe, and--oh, you get the idea). And what better place to start than gorgeous Miami?

When our team goes to Miami for Swim Week each year, they book rooms at the Delano in South Beach without hesitation. The historic Art Deco hotel named after Franklin Delano Roosevelt is a stunning property and a must-visit. Keep reading to find out why!

DRINKS

You know we can't resist a poolside (adult) beverage. And the Delano has it down. Our recs? A classic Aperol Spritz, Rose Spritz, and a fresh coconut with rum. All are perfectly Instagram-able and taste just as delish.

FOOD

What's better than poolside service? Honestly, not much. Rent a cabana and you'll be made in the shade all day long. Their staff will bring you anything your heart desires - we went with comfort classics like the Caesar salad, pita and fresh hummus, chicken kabobs, and of course - FRIESSS.

POOL

While the gorg Art Deco-style property was built in 1947 (and was the tallest building in Miami at the time!) the amenities now are thoroughly modern. One of our favorite features is the pool, which features a large shallow ledge that's perfect for lounging on. Or, sit on the in-water furniture and post up for a cute pic.

VIBE

You get a sense of the Delano's whimsical atmosphere the second you walk in. If you walk straight through the spacious lobby you'll head straight to beach, passing artworks by Man Ray and Salvador Dali along the way. A museum in its own right, contemporary art and furniture buffs will be awed by the decor. Step outside and you'll take in the prettiest, neatly manicured grounds. Oh, and two words: giant chess. Done.

Cheers to our first installment of When In...! If you're planning a trip to South Beach soon, make sure a visit to the Delano is on your itinerary.
