On Holiday With: Common Thread

Pack your bags! We're heading to Costa Mesa, CA! We're catching up with Owner of Common Thread Boutique, Steph! She's giving us the ultimate travel guide to Orange County from fab drink spots to the best bites! Ready to visit? Keep reading to find the hidden gems of the OC.

Hi Steph! Can you describe your typical day?

My typical day starts at 4 a.m. and I always schedule a full hour of me time (coffee, prayer, mediation, gratitude and reading) followed by one hour to run. This just starts my day on the right foot before chaos ensues!  I drop the kids off before 8 a.m. (after asking them 75 times to hurry hurry!). Then I head to our warehouse and start my day there at 8 a.m. By 10 a.m. I am either in buying appointments, meetings, checking in at the store or working at my  computer.  I absolutely love that none of my days look the same - the only continuity is that I always work 8-5 and then do my best to get home for some family time.  This varies with sports and just life as a working mom of 3 - but I am wife and mom until 8:30 when I wrap up my day and aim to go to bed by 9 p.m.  Sometimes I get sucked back to the computer depending on how far behind I feel, but I am lights out by 10 p.m. ALWAYS!

Your girls are coming into town, where is the first place you’re taking them?

Well now you have me craving a girl’s weekend!  We would start with a long walk on the beach, tons of time to chat and enjoy our gorgeous weather and views.  I would take them all to Common Thread (obviously) and then we would shop along 17th Street.  We would head to late afternoon/early evening drinks on Lido and dinner at Zinque!

Best bites?

Casual with my kids: Ruby’s Sandwiches

Food Delivery: Flower Child

Date night: Royal Hen or Gracias Madre (best margarita in town!)

Family dinner out: Trenta

Ready for a real bore?  I prefer to eat at home ALWAYS!

Dying for a cocktail, where are we going?

Olea

Malibu Farms

Playa Mesa

Best beaches to hit?

Truly we head to 32nd street on bikes or take a drive to the Wedge - these days my kids choose the beaches:)

Deff craving a margarita and a shopping trip my bffs now! Thanks for catching up with us Steph! If you head to any of the places above, let us know what you think!

xx

Keep up with Steph + Common Thread here!
