How We're Spending This Valentine's Day At Home

Whether you've been together forever or you just started dating, the pressure to have a special Valentine's Day is real. This year, things are looking a little different and most couples will probably be spending the holiday at home. But that doesn't mean this year won't be just as memorable as those splashy nights out you used to have! Embrace the cozy-at-home vibe and enjoy a date night in.

We caught up with LSPACE Merchandising Manager, Brittany, and her fiancé Derek, in their cute coastal abode to see how they'll be spending their Valentine's Day this year. Check out our top Valentine's Day date ideas - and outfit inspiration to go with it - below!

1. Enjoy a lazy morning at home

With Valentine's Day falling on a Sunday this year, you can enjoy some (probably much-needed) time to disconnect from the world. Zoom meetings, online classes, homeschool lesson plans...whatever's weighing on you these days, take a break for the morning and turn off all your tech devices. Make that fancy cold foam coffee you saw on Pinterest, and crack open that novel you've been meaning to read. You and your honey both deserve it!

OUTFIT INSPIRATION:

Brittany paired our Jean embellished bikini top with the fuzzy Daydreamin' cardigan and shorts - your loungewear basics just got a chic, feminine upgrade!

2. Go for a picnic in the park

Fancy restaurants on Valentine's Day? Been there, done that. Pack up a lunch and take it outside for a fun picnic instead. Split the work - one of you handles the main dish, and the other chooses drinks and dessert. An al fresco charcuterie board is most definitely the way to our hearts.

OUTFIT INSPIRATION:

Brittany dressed things up in our Daisy Diamond floral print Talia wrap dress. Plus, she toted all her picnic essentials in the new Seaside Cooler bag - the fully insulated lining is perfect for keeping your refreshments cool!

3. Make a new recipe together

Is food one of the love languages? We certainly think so. Make the most of a night in by making a home-cooked meal with your significant other. Try a new recipe, or use a meal kit service like HelloFresh or Blue Apron if you're not a culinary whiz. Bonus points if you throw in a homemade craft cocktail!

OUTFIT INSPIRATION:

The Pillow Talk pullover sweater and Sleepin' In joggers are Brittany's comfy picks. The cropped elastic waistband and ultra soft ribbed fabric are flattering and oh-so cozy.

4. Double feature movie night

This is a win-win situation: you and your S.O. can each pick out a movie and you can watch them both for a double feature movie night. Choose a theme like "cheesiest romantic film" (hello, Twilight) or "romantic film classics" (we think The Princess Bride never gets old). And hey, if you can turn it into a drinking game, we won't judge...

OUTFIT INSPIRATION:

Brittany chose our Staycation half-zip pullover and Off Duty shorts for an on-trend loungewear look. Keep it cozy by wearing the set together, and take each piece to the streets later by pairing with your existing wardrobe staples.
